Psychological aspect

Why provide psychological support within the framework of assisted reproduction (AR)?

Within the framework of this service, the unit provides someone who can listen and give psychological assistance, allowing patients time to discuss any issues that may arise if they have recourse to AR. It is available for anyone or any couple requiring support or someone to talk to throughout the various stages.

Questions, various emotions and thoughts can emerge as much during the stages preceding an attempt as during or at the end of the treatment. There are also questions about the future child we keep thinking about or no longer dare think about. These different aspects are sometimes difficult to manage alone.

For all these reasons, and many more, our team gives patients the opportunity to consult a psychiatrist or a psychologist who is an integral part of the assisted reproduction team.

Furthermore, systematic meetings with a psychologist are planned if a third party is to be involved, for oocyte or sperm donation for instance.
