Spermogram and spermacytogram A spermogram is one of the first tests to be carried out when exploring a couple’s fertility.
For this test, the male partner produces a sperm sample by masturbation into a sterile container. It is important to abstain from sex for 2 to 5 days beforehand in order to obtain sperm of the best quality possible.
During this analysis, three important sperm parameters are assessed:
As well as exposing male infertility, these techniques also measure the efficacy of a vasectomy or reveal infections.
The results of these tests will only be available from the consultant 2 to 3 weeks after the analysis. |
